Yes, that's what happens. NM can make the connection with wlan2 but 
"wpa_assintant" fails.

Hey, that did it! At least for wlan2 card :-)

By stopping NM now wpa_assintant runs fine for wlan2 while wlan0 (the one with
broadcom chipset) fails in the same way it did.
