No need for that.  Install smartmontools.  Add smart-notifier if you
feel the need for a GUI.


Okay I installed the tools, it seems like it installed the daemon and the gui. But I can't see the gui from the applications menu in xfce. It's strange because it says that it's a gtk gui in the package description.

Should I leave it just working as a daemon and it would warn if there is anything wrong?
