Sorry - things have moved on! I installed NVidia over two years ago, on Wheezy. I initially used nouveau, but it wasn't satisfactory, so as seemed to be the only alternative at the time, I installed the relevant proprietary driver from the NVidia website. It works beautifully. Apart from updates, I have done nothing for over two years! I could look up details, I hope, but they are unlikely to be helpful to you, having seen this.
