Oh, looking closer: unicorn:~$ apt-cache show man-db | grep Depends Depends: bsdextrautils | bsdmainutils (<< 12.1.1~), [...] So, man-db only depends on bsdmainutils as an alternative. That means the output of "apt-cache showpkg bsdmainutils" is a bit confusing, as is the output of "apt-cache depends man-db". Such silly tools.
