On this Debian 12 machine (QWERTY keyboard) with Xfce, I have the following keyboard setup : Xfce -> Applications -> Settings -> Keyboard -> Layout = English(US), with Variant = English (US, intl, with dead keys) . This provides the ° character with the three keys RightAlt + Shift + : I didn't need any additional character mapping. This setup also makes it easy to write in french with accents. Roger
