It's interesting that in this particular case the OP is saying that their system was set up to mount /tmp from a disk partition in the fstab, and that the fstab has been edited by the upgrade process to remove that entry. I haven't personally experienced it and I doubt many people have since tmpfs for /tmp has been recommended for many years. Everything OP has posted so far bears out their claim. If repeatable, that would seem to be a mistake in the release notes. Or a bug in the upgrade process, if one feels strongly that the /tmp fstab entry should be preserved. Does someone feel like installing bookworm, setting an explicit /tmp mount and then doing a dist-upgrade to check it?
