Try a different mouse? A while back I had a USB mouse with that habit.
It randomly clicked when I wasn't even touching the click button.
Proved by connecting a different USB mouse. That one did not do this.
If your touchpad is built-in part of a laptop, that would make this a
bit harder to accomplish.
I will try a mouse and so far this is all with the touchpad.
