I'd rather we didn't split the archive this way.  In the .rpm world,
people are used to the idea that, for most useful software, you have to
look outside the repo.  The result is a million not particularly well
done .rpms for a given piece of software, and no particular thing to
recommend EPEL over lolrpms.cx to a newcomer.

Let's not make the .deb world look like that.
