Hello, Thank you for your attention. I think this bug should be closed; in trying to solve this problem today, out of desperation I force-installed the dependent packages listed below by manually downloading version 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4, and in doing so I saw that these versions were the normal, standard ones for sarge, not 4.3.0.dfsg.1-5. I can only assume I somehow got sid packages for these libs in the recent past (I can't imagine how; perhaps I modified the wrong line in my sources.list).
So: very sorry for the bad bug report. Everything works with the "older" packages. -- Dan On Sat, Aug 21, 2004 at 08:39:50PM -0500, Branden Robinson wrote: > tag 266074 + moreinfo > severity 266074 normal > thanks > > On Mon, Aug 16, 2004 at 06:12:12PM +0200, Dan Chiavelli wrote: > > Package: xlibs-dev > > Severity: important > > Why is your installed version of xlibs-dev not reported above? > > What version of xlibs-dev do you have installed, or what version are you > trying to install? > > > I think the dependencies have gotten messed up for xlibs-dev... all of > > the dependent packages are off by one minor version number.
