XKB files have been moved into /usr/share/X11/xkb, so it is very strange that your workaround has any influence. I can see only 2 reasons at the moment: * Some of your X packages have not been upgraded to X.Org 7 * The XKBPATH environment variable is set to /etc/X11/xkb Can you please check?
