Hi Roger, The randr-1.2 branch has been merged, it is now available in Debian in xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.7.191-1 (in experimental). Please let me know whether it helps. If not, does xrandr report that the cinema display is connected? Are any modes detected? Please the xrandr output and the new Xorg.0.log.
