That is probably the next step. Good idea. Thanks.

Might want to try if you have not already to load/revert to all defaults for all settings, save and restart, then go back in and make needed changes.

Hi, all-

I flashed the BIOS to the latest revision this afternoon. It did not fix the problem. Keep those ideas coming!

Are the BIOS versions the same? Maybe it was fixed in a newer BIOS update. I remember updating older servers of various brands and recall that the readme's for BIOS' often talked about fixes to power management support.

While I can not help you, I feel your pain. A client has 2 Proliant 350s and 2 Proliant 330s and one of the 350s refuses to start after power is restored even though all BIOS settings are the same. Of course, this problem was found after support ended and HP/Compaq has not been helpful on resolving it.

OK, here's one for those of you with long memories....

I have several Proliant 1850Rs on line. They were all configured with Smart Start, and all appear to have the same BIOS settings, including the advanced settings accessible after hitting Ctrl-A. The board switches are set the same on all machines.

All but one restart automatically after a power failure. One does not, and I cannot find anything relating to this behavior in the BIOS settings or online at HP.  A query to their support forum turned up another user with the same issue, and no response from anyone to the question.

Does anybody here remember how to set this?
