So after all these years of using [and loving] Delphi 5, I finally
decided to upgrade to Delphi 2005 Enterprise. Then I waited a year to
install it.

Now that I am using it, I am getting a lot of very squirrelly behaviors.

Using the Jedi JVCL310 appears to drive it crazy. About every third
day, trying to start Delphi is impossible. It takes hours (literally)
to start up. By dumping all of the Jedi VCL code and then
reinstalling it, the load time goes from hours to minutes. Still
slow, but livable.

Then, when I am using it, I can watch the memory usage climb steadily
in the Task Manager. It starts out at about 75Meg, and then every
edit, every compile, or even just sitting there, it starts to climb.
When I run from the IDE, the memory usage of BDS drops to about 20M.
then, closing down the application takes it back where it was, and
then some. Once it climbs to using over 1 G of Ram, it starts getting
GPFs when anything is done in the editor. I have even seen some "out
of memory" dialogs pop up.

I am using a brand new Dell XPS410 machine with 4 G of RAM and XP
Professional 2002 Service Pack 2.

Anyone else seeing this kind of crap? I have installed the Delphi
2005 Enterprise service pack, so the About screen shows: BDS for
Windows, Version 9.0.1761.24408.

Help. Reinstalling did not help, nor did removing as much of the .NET
stuff.
