This is long overdue so I welcome the effort. I think Nick needs some editing help with his messages, though. He could have said the whole beginning of the message as "We are going to separate older coding constructs from newer ones. If you want to continue the way you have, you can by selecting that front end option. If you want to use some of the newer stuff you will have to leave some older stuff behind when you select the newer front end option. Sorry about that but it is the price of progress." I think everyone would understand this well enough, especially if it is accompanied by some good examples of how the ancient constructs are holding back the newer stuff.
The time frame bothers me some. If they can have a preview ready in 6 months, it seems that an additional year to finish is a LONG time. But I have confidence they can estimate well enough. Finally, if it gets us significantly closer to cross-compiling for different platforms then it is a big win for everyone! __________________________________________________ Delphi-Talk mailing list -> [email protected] http://lists.elists.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/delphi-talk
