HKEY_CURRENT_USER shouldn't be a problem, LOCAL_MACHINE is.
OpenKeyReadOnly does the trick though. Also you could try RegEdt32, and give
the users access to the key you want.

'lo = I've got an app that runs fine under NT, but seems to having a
problem on a clients windows 2000 machine, I can't open a registry key in
HKCU, I seem to recall someone mentioning a while ago about having to open
the key in read only mode explicitly but cant seem to find anything in the
archives about it....

Any pointers?
