Why was it necessary to recreate the index files? Rebuilding should be your first port of call for corrupted indexes with recreation only necessary in exceptional circumstances.    Sorry, I have not heard of this situation before. We have defined a secondary index made up of only the Autoincrement field, given it a name and saved the table. the DBD reported no errors. However when we look at the structure again, no secondary index appears.
