I was thought to select a language appropriate for the problem at hand and not to select one and stick to it just because "it's the language I've always used." After all, some problems are more easily solved in some languages and really complex in others. The way I see it is that .NET makes this more of a reality.
Personally I think mixing languages as easily as .NET makes it would make it more fun and challenging rather than a nightmare. Currently, when I'm writing code, if I don't like the way the language I'm using forces me to express a certain problem, then tough.
