Is there a searchable DUG archive still? This question has been asked a few times before so you might be able to find some good answers there.
I think Developer Express provide excellent components - so long as you aren't fussed about the cost (which really isn't that much if you are a professional developer). They are also very modular and extendable if you are an advanced enough developer to get into that sort of thing. We use most of their controls except ExpressBars (which worked poorly back at version 5 when we evaluated, we use Toolbar2000+TBX instead) and some others that we haven't yet found a use for (eg the outlook style page navigator, vertical grids, etc). People seem to be saying more and more good things about TMS but I haven't played with their stuff in ages. What I do remember about their architecture and internal coding is pretty neutral. I personally would stay away from Woll2Woll because my memory of them is that their architecture was poor (compare with the modular DevExpress grid architecture for comparison) and their code was awful (spaghetti code). However it was many years ago that I last used their stuff so perhaps my criticism are no longer warranted.
