Further internet searches suggest that:
export DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib:$DYLD_FALLBACK_LIBRARY_PATH ~/Desktop/Denemo.app/Contents/MacOS/denemo.sh might work, however there are warnings that "protected processes" purge this before starting, and that the shell interpreter is one such... And, in any case, it seems insane that the dynamic linker does not already know about /usr/lib ...
