Thanks very much for doing this work, Laura! I think you've inserted the WWD
material in the right place. I'm not sure that "self-study guide" is the right
term, though, since it implies you're just reading -- it's really a tutorial.
Also, "up and running" might be a little colloquial. So I would suggest a title
like "Tutorial: working with Derby" or maybe even just "Derby tutorial".
I see that the "SQL Syntax" section is still included; were you going to file a
separate issue to move it to the Reference Manual (maybe a subtask of this one)?
