Hi everyone, To be honest, I don't like the changes proposed in this mailing list. I'm really happy with the current home screen design. That said, I wouldn't necessarily be against bigger icons or having a link to the website somewhere, as long as it was designed well.

Aero is very tasking, true, but icons don't really figure into the equation here -- the difference between processing power required for the current and the classic icons is so miniscule that it doesn't really make sense to make big design decisions because of it. In the long run, though, we could opt for a less tasking design direction that uses simple 2D shapes and few colors instead of an intricate mix of various colors and gradients, quasi-3D, and shadows and bevels.
