In fact the Metaphor is better at describing all the data that one hasn´t already classified as a project or as a collection. The type of media: URL, Photo, Sound, Movie, doesn´t matter really, what it matters it´s the meaning of the media. As the word is self implied, it´s a media (a way) to transmit something (data-> information). So to speak, I believe it is more human, more natural and self explanatory.
