I personally believe, by this way, OSAF would be much more in control of the product, from the UI experience regarding consistency. That way there wouldn´t be any second class citizens (speaking of XP users, like myself).

I completely agree with this, and I think iTunes is a shining example - sure, it looks mac-like, but to a windows user, it just looks like a different-looking app. Even the new Office is going to look different from other windows apps, so more and more I start to ask, what is a "typical" windows app going to look like in a few years? If anything it seems like the more heavyweight apps (iTunes, Office, etc) end up taking on their own look, while the tiny utility programs (Paint, some shareware) end up looking "windows-like"

further, I think this would allow for us to share designs more closely with scooby (which is AJAX-based)

For the future, wouldn´t it be nice that Chandler had a unique UI regardless of platform? Wouldn´t it be very recognizable if anyone is using Chandler by a glimpse of someones computer monitor?
I welcome everyones opinion on this matter inside and outside OSAF.
