Hi, There is a patch in the upstream bug now that prefers LVDS outputs, which should give a better experience for laptop users as their panel will tend to stay on the laptop panel.
It's partly just a stopgap until you can select the primary output in the capplet though. Would that patch be suitable for Jaunty?
