Happens to me on 2 different Lucid machines, one with AMD HD4670, proprietary driver via jockey, one with Intel GMA4500. Usual behaviour is for a sound indicator icon to show where network manager normally lives, and time portion of the clock to repeat the half the date instead. The other day I also had graphic for the memenu show where the power button (indicator applet session?) normally is, meaning I had no graphical shutdown option (had to ctrl-alt-del). All of these erroneous graphics are un-clickable.
