Right-click on a file and "Move to Trash" or the delete button works as
intended (and the file is presented in the Trash afterwards with options
to restore and empty as intended).

Permissions on on .local/share/Trash seems fine:

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ ls -al ~/.local/share/Trash/
total 0
drwx------ 4 ubuntu ubuntu 80 Aug 23 13:14 .
drwx------ 20 ubuntu ubuntu 440 Aug 23 15:59 ..
drwx------ 2 ubuntu ubuntu 60 Aug 23 16:00 files
drwx------ 2 ubuntu ubuntu 60 Aug 23 16:00 info
