The only reason I use matrix is that allows me to not loose any comment while I'm not connected. If we can recover the IRC log not, there's no need for it.
If we can log off to avoid people talk to ghost users that's another improvement. Hands up everybody that claim IRC is just perfect but have a personal bouncer running 24x7!
