Mr. Fielding has proposed to dissolve the Desktop Community, according to this thread,

I like to bring your attention to this thread while most of us are happy campers working away at our individual bits, but we should be aware of this. I am not asking us all to jump into the debate, rather should voice up should the worst case scenario be developed. Just my 2 cents from a member of the desktop community, -Ghee
