 From my perspective, really, yes.  But again, I am not part of the AI 
team, this is just my personal view.

Why would you use scripting when you could simply build profiles or 
manifests appropriate to the given system?  I don't know what AI or 
other tools have planned, but I would personally assume that the ability 
to select installation profiles based on hardware or some other criteria 
would be a necessity.

And yes, depending on how the tool is designed, you shouldn't need 
scripting to do that.

Configuration is outside of the scope of my comments which were only 
referring to packaging.
