And that's exactly the one that I did download! (I wanted the one for the 
package manager.)
This is what it says on exactly that page:

[i]Welcome to the Sun Studio 12 Multi-Language Release Package Installer 
Download Page.

The download on this page contains the product installer for Sun Studio 12 
software, which installs Solaris or Linux packages and provides a full set of 
options for customizing your installation.

1. Download the Sun Studio 12 package installer file into a scratch directory, 
such as /var/tmp.
2. Unpack the file by typing:

 bzcat download_directory/SunStudio12ML-os-platform-date-pkg.tar.bz2 | /bin/tar 
-xf - [/i]

... and that's what I did. It didn't do anything, therefore I searched the 
files and found one called 'installer', and ran it.

Where's my mistake?
