Where's my mistake? There it is: (and a bit on the website, AFAICS)
1. One way or another it was not possible to pkgadd the package; no idea why. But ./installer worked, as I explained in this thread. Though it didn't install the necessary netbeans. 2. I missed the prepare_system, wasn't aware it came with that package (so it was not in the PATH!) 3. It isn't written in that page, that ./prepare_system -C is needed to find out what is missing, and then ./prepare_system -s netbeans needs to be typed for netbeans. Those who do did it before, surely know by heart all those tiny steps. For those who do it the first time, this information could be readily accessible on the website that offers the download. It should not stop at 'bzcat download_directory/SunStudio12ml-os-platform-date-pkg.tar.bz2 | /bin/tar -xf - ' Uwe -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
