This works for me on snv_98, os2008.11 (indiana) and it doesn't crash. But i persist to say that tex programs have nothing related to Qt, i mean tex, latex, pdflatex, etc... Qt is only mandatory for editors. In my case, i'm using Tex from Blastwave, and binaries are available in /opt/csw/bin. This package is based on /tetex/-3.0 REV=2005.07.01, unfortunately, it's and old release, not maintained (http://www.tug.org/teTeX/) . gerard
