Call it a perk or something, but NVIDIA makes a definite killing swaying people at their chips. If it were available (Without a contract) to people who bought systems from Sun with ANY NVIDIA components, I'm sure it could happen, but for other platforms, it's a SOL situation.
No MPEG2, MPEG4, WMV, VC9 or Bluray rom support will limit the future of Solaris. Depending on a foreign body to deliver such things is not going to work, I guessed this would happen when I first saw Fluendo since they are primarily in the business to cater ala carte to Linux heads. James
