For users who don't want to have to build gst-plugins-bad, I've provided 
a binary XPI on the Songbird add-ons site here:

http://addons.songbirdnest.com/addons/1354

If you install Alfred's Songbird 1.0.0rc2 build below, and then go to 
the above URL in Songbird and install that add-on - you should be all 
set for media playback.
Many thanks to Alfred as usual for providing the Songbird 1.0.0rc2 build. :)
