Does that happen to all files? Certain filetypes only? OpenSolaris snv_95 clocks in at 1.6% on a quadcore (6.4% on a core, which is still a bit much for MP3 playback and seek bar redraws IMO, if taking media players on Windows as reference is valid, if Solaris measures CPU load similar to Windows that is).
