I was more hinting at the codec situation with the distro. You have to manually get the Fluendo MP3 decoder to actually get MP3 playback in Songbird. The OSS sink has also to be compiled manually, as well as libfaad and the FAAD plugin to get AAC playback. VLC comes all included in a package and I think there's a spec file for it, too. -mg
