"the player" contains for example mp3 "codec" by default, mplayer uses ffmpeg libs which has a lot of codecs, from mp3 to windows stuff (on the site there a essential-codecs pacakge, it includes some quick time, windows thingys, but it's outdated, i mean ffmpeg does a lot of them), that's why i asked, so imho it must build with --disable-alot, so if *we* are disabling all "non legal" stuff, what remains? ogg ? and wave ?:)
