All those you quoted use GStreamer in *nix and as such don't even care about it at all. They just hand over a file location to GStreamer, which then tells it if it can play that file or not. And does so or not. That means, you'll get Songbird shipped as is, any decoding duty is being taken care of by GStreamer.
