I have this problem but only under the following conditions: a) It only (or mostly) affects the terminal window! b) The problem is only (or mostly) present if Compiz was active automatically when I logged on
It could be that the problem is merely _much_ worse for terminal windows and/or when Compiz is active when I log in. Other than that, compiz is fairly usable. Disabling compiz, logging out (which restarts X) and back in, then enabling Compiz fixes the issue (mostly - resizing is still sluggish, but at least functional / bearable) Note: I did not have this issue prior to Compiz shipping with Solaris Express - I used to have Compiz permanently active! Now, since I do 80% of my work in a terminal window, I rarely enable it. Actually I just noticed that I can not "customize" Compiz settings - all settings are greyerd out / disabled! I can only select one of the "profiles" under visual effects, eg None, Normal, Extra or Custom. I have no idea when this started!
