A good place to start could be to get the backend working on opensolaris without video encoder in it.
My setup is opensolaris running as the NAS and db for the mythtv setup. One feature it has is that mythtv can wake up slave encoders to do things - so for me it would mean that I did not have to remember to turn on the linux encoder. Could be a useful and easy way to get mythtv on opensolaris started? This message posted from opensolaris.org
