I have recently moved my home system from OpenSolaris Nevada build 87 to build 101. As part of the move to build 101, I have moved from UFS to ZFS root.
I also took this opportunity to disable the /home automounter entry, and move home directories from /export/home/<USER> to /home/<USER> following this modification, I did a find/grep search for every file that made reference to /export/home/<USER>, and modified that file to point to /home/<USER>. I thought that would be enough, but obviously it was not. Now, when a user logs in, the login works fine, and they can execute applications from the menu without issue. However, the icons on the Desktop do not show up until exactly 45 minutes after the login has occurred. Is there anyway to rebuild the GNOME desktop from OpenSolaris Nevada build 101? I have lots of customized settings I would hate to lose. Thanks, Jerry
