2nd try.

I appreciate any comments on this.  I archived then moved the .gnome2 
directory since writing the original post, but it made no difference.

I am assuming this is my issue, but if nothing else, my next (planned) 
upgrade will be to OpenSolaris Nevada build 105 as I want to play with 
the encrypted file systems.  Maybe this will resolve my issue.
