With difficulty. The GUI printer manager no longer appears to request a
root password, so it doesn't have the privileges it needs to actually
do anything. IIRC I fired up the printer manager as root from the command
line. As mentioned, CUPS printing does work (Open Office, Thunderbird)
so this does seem to be a Firefox problem. One thing that coincided
with the upgrade to 3.0.5 was a new printer. It seems to be extraordinarily
difficult to persuade Firefox to forget about old printers - prefs.js
is littered with references to them, although the Firefox print dialog
doesn't list them.

Thought I'd best check with the experts before filing a bug. I'll do it
against development/Mozilla/firefox. I suppose they can move it if needed.
