Hi all,

I recently installed a Sun Ray 2FS in my wife's office, and the
performance--especially the screen update speed--is noticably
slower than when I experimented with it here first. Here, I used
my Ultra 20 (2.6 GHz Opteron 152 CPU, 2 GB of RAM, and NVidia FX1400
video card), while her office is using a Sun Fire X2100 (2.2 GHz
Opteron <mumble>, 1 GB of RAM, and whatever rudimentary video card
the X2100 comes with). The network config (small 100 baseT switched
LAN) was the same in both cases. One other difference is that my
Ultra 20 was running Nevada b81 whereas the X2100 is running b82 (not
that I'd think that'd make a difference). Oh, and this is with the
latest version of the Sun Ray server software.

So my question is: what is likely to be the main cause of the difference
in performance? Is it the video card or (as I'm hoping is the case)
is it the CPU and/or memory? (If it's the latter I can make an easier
case to replace the X2100 with something more beefy.)

TIA,
