When I installed the Developer Tools from B78's DVD I also noticed that
GNOME's panels would flicker, and Nautilus would restart.  I suspect
they do this so the shortcuts are available to the user without making
them logout then back in again.  There must be a better way of doing it
though, Explorer.exe doesn't crash when you install programs just so
they show up, so it doesn't make any sense.
