It is good that Sun pays attention to such things.

If Solaris came with a standard C/C++ compiler (as old SunOS used to), 
then many licensing problems could be solved by shipping the source 
code and compiling it into the final application at install time. :-)

Solaris package installation is so slow that some users would not 
notice a difference.
