Hi Nipka, I guess you are not using UTF-8 locale. UTF-8 is the recommended locale for Solaris. If you are not sure, 'locale' command shows you the current locale.
% locale LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE="ja_JP.UTF-8" LC_NUMERIC="ja_JP.UTF-8" LC_TIME="ja_JP.UTF-8" LC_COLLATE="ja_JP.UTF-8" LC_MONETARY="ja_JP.UTF-8" LC_MESSAGES=ja_JP.UTF-8 LC_ALL= If you are using non-UTF-8 locale, could you try the following? 1. bring up gnome-session-properties 2. register /usr/lib/iiim/iiimx-settings-init as Startup Programs If you are using UTF-8 locale, could you try to login with an another user such as root? If the IM window disappears every sessions, your profile may contain some entries caused the problem.
