Is the concern with Internal Sun Users or Opensolaris?

For internal Sun users, from vermillion_52b (built on snv_51) due today,
they'll be required to use snv_51. We'll also need to strip out the HAL
stuff from these install scripts.

For Opensolaris, we may need to make packages available, or wait till SX
based on nevada_53, as I expect snv_51 and snv_52 will be NoGO's for SX
due to Desktop issues with HAL/Vold and gnome2.14. So we may have difficulty
here.

What are the kernel issues? we didn't see these making earlier HAL packages
available?
