The last time I talked to the person at Sun that would be most likely to
decide our position on this, the answer was that we probably wouldn't object
to open sourcing it, but would rather spend our efforts on GNOME/JDS than CDE
now, so weren't going to devote resources to pushing it ourselves.
(There was also some concern that it would just be a "dump it out and let it
rot" open sourcing without a community to sustain it long-term, which we
don't see much benefit in.)
