Here are my thoughts on the contents of that doc. It was written from
this position: not all JDS users will be migrating from Windoze. The
JDS team have a LOT of CDE users to keep happy too...

Launch -> Applications -> Accessories: I would like to see a simple
standalone Roladex-like program for maintaining contacts (like CDE's
sdtname). A standalone contact manager is desirable because not everyone
wants the overhead of using Evolution. IF JDS does already have this
funcitonality, its visibility needs to be raised! :-)

Launch -> Applications -> Games: I can't believe there're no modern
versions of Life or Nethack/rogue that could be included! Heck, I'd
settle for a TTY version of the latter. :-)

Launch -> Applications -> Office: I strongly support the desirabilty
of shipping with StarOffice 8.

Launch -> Applications -> Sound & Video: If possible support for older
codecs should be kept/re-introduced. IMHO, just because a format has
been superceded is no reason to drop support for it. The files in that
older format don't automagically update themselves...

Launch -> <username>: I'm against the idea of not display the user's
Home directory (folder).

Launch -> Preferences: I'd like to see three options somewhere on one
of these menus:

        1. Double-click on Window menu closes that window (a la CDE).

        2. Minimised apps' icons appear on Desktop (rather than in the Taskbar).

        3. Right click on Desktop opens the Launch menu.

It is fine for these to not be the default, provided the choice is there...

One last thing: Nautilus needs to understand the function keys on the left
hand side of Sun keyboards (specifically Open, Front, Cut, and Paste).

Hope this is useful,
